Found a little opening
in a seam after you have finished your quilt. Use a
little piece of fusible thread to resecure it.

I label the spool on the
bottom with a permanent pen so when the label falls
off I do not use it for piecing!

Use it for this neat
appliqué trick . When preparing to either machine or
hand appliqué a fairly smooth shape like a heart.
Put fabric squares for 2 hearts right sides
together. Draw your design on the back of one side,
put water soluble thread in the top and bobbin
(label your bobbin) and stitch on the design line,
leaving about a 1 and 1 /2 inch opening, Turn the
set right sides out and press with steam. The
stitches will either dissolve or weaken so the
hearts can easily be pulled apart. You then have two
hearts with nicely turned edges to appliqué down.
Note: The reason that I suggest labeling spool
and bobbin is that I once pieced with water soluble
thread and after I ironed the blocks I had a lot of
separate pieces.
